Natcap is a nature intelligence company spun out of Oxford University that helps corporates measure, report and act on nature. Natcap's platform provides access to proprietary, scientifically robust data that enables companies to meet their reporting, risk management, and target setting requirements. You will be joining at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey as we have closed our Series A fundraising round and rapidly scale the business to meet growing demand.

As a senior scientist, you will be joining our multidisciplinary science team to lead the development of models and metrics for our nature intelligence platform, and bring the most rigorous science to the hands of those with the biggest influence on nature. You will work closely with software engineers, product developers and other scientists in cross-functional teams to deliver useful and scalable insights to customers, helping them understand their interaction with nature and ultimately take action.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Develop new models and metrics that are informed by robust science and create clarity and insight for our customers across a range of sectors and geographies

• Work within our natcap infrastructure to ingest and process data, quickly design, prototype and test new models and metrics, and build new analyses and insights. You’ll work almost exclusively in Python programming language.

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including software engineers, product managers, delivery leads and scientists, and be responsible for the design and delivery of models and metrics.

• Join customer calls and work closely with our commercial and product teams to deeply understand customer context and priorities to ensure your science is useful and impactful

• Speak with experts across a range of fields and topics to quickly master the state of science on a topic, and then translate this knowledge into models and metrics that can be deployed at scale

• Communicate complex scientific concepts in a clear and compelling way to a range of audiences, including customers and non-experts.

• Quality assure your own work, and the work of others, including through code review.
