Technical Project Manager (Contract)
Company Overview
We are a fast-growing startup working to scale our product and operations while establishing enterprise-grade infrastructure and security practices. We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with deep development and operations expertise to spearhead a critical six-month initiative. The successful candidate will coordinate delivery of this project across multiple teams—from Product, Infrastructure, IT—to establish critical infrastructure components, elevate our security posture, and ensure policy compliance.
Role Overview
As the Contract Technical Project Manager (Cloud Infrastructure), you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering a company-wide security-focused infrastructure improvement program. You will collaborate with leadership and stakeholders across various teams, ensuring that infrastructure and product changes are seamlessly integrated with our security strategy, policy, and architecture. Your end goal is to implement robust infrastructure improvements that stand up to enterprise security requirements and remove technical obstacles to ISO 27001 certification.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Work with the CTO, CISO and team leads to refine project scope and objectives
Deliver the project on time and within budget
Create and maintain high quality project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
Lead daily/weekly stand-ups and status updates with cross-functional teams
Identify and mitigate risks proactively, ensuring timely resolution of project blockers
Present project updates, key milestones, and risks to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication across all teams involved.
Security Infrastructure Program Delivery:
Work with the CISO to understand strategy, goals, policy, and intended processes around security
Oversee and guide the implementation of enterprise-grade security practices across Product, Infrastructure, IT, and Policy implementation
Collaborate with technical leads on infrastructure and product to turn policy requirements into actionable plans and make sure the work is delivered
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate closely with engineering, product management, and infrastructure teams to integrate security requirements into ongoing projects
Coordinate with IT teams to ensure alignment of security measures with internal systems and tools (e.g., Google Workspace)
Partner with leadership and stakeholders to communicate project progress, key findings, and recommendations in a clear, concise manner
Policy Writing & Implementation:
Draft or improve existing security procedures and guidelines aligned with industry standards
Help us “live the change” by ensuring adoption of new policies through leadership & team and training
Maintain up-to-date documentation and support evidence collection for audit readiness
Compliance & Certification:
Support the organisation’s path toward ISO 27001 certification, including gap assessments, risk management, and control implementation.

Technical and Project Management Expertise:
Proven track record of successfully delivering infrastructure projects in a fast-paced startup environment with tight timelines
Proficiency in using project management tools (e.g., Jira) to plan, track, and report on progress
Deep understanding of infrastructure best practices, especially in cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
Hands-on experience with policy implementation in line with ISO 27001 and/or SOC 2
Infrastructure & Product Insight:
Knowledge of key infrastructure technology components and how they interact with security best practices
Ability to assess product roadmaps and identify security implications/requirements
Certifications & Standards (Highly Desirable):
Experience assisting an organisation through ISO 27001 certification
Working knowledge of typical certification requirements and general audit processes
Communication Skills:
Exceptional communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including C-level executives
Strong problem-solving ability, with a keen eye for risk management
A collaborative mindset, able to influence and drive consensus among cross-functional teams
